AAC
AAC Non-Conference schedules for the 2024-25 season.
Conference Play Outlook: The American Athletic Conference is moving ahead with 13 members, following SMU’s departure, for another intriguing race in 2024-25. Last season, the AAC produced a memorable and aggressive scheduling test run for building its league schedule. The league ultimately signed off on a schedule that contained a clear divide based on forecasted preseason strength. That led to unbalanced schedules where most of the projected top half of the league faced each other twice and faced lower projected squads just once. Vise versa for the bottom half. That model allowed South Florida and Charlotte to have leads at different points of the season with the Bulls ultimately winning the regular-season crown in Amir Abdur-Rahim’s first season in Tampa.
The AAC will again play 18 league games, including six of its 12 conference opponents twice and the other six once – three at home and three on the road. This time around, I believe the league added common sense policies for sensible geographical neighbors to play twice (for example, USF and FAU only played once last year, which is now fixed for a home-and-home this coming year).
The complete 2024-25 men's basketball composite schedule with dates and times will be announced at a later date. The first conference play date is December 31st and will run through March 9. The 2025 American Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Championship will be held at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, March 12-16.
